Suzanna, once again, your poetry makes me stop, think, feel, reread, ponder, see, and breathe. You always convey such deep respect for nature. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your words.
We have a MaMa Robin in a nest she made on an outdoor light next to the house. We have watched daily and we now have two fuzzy heads with mouths open all of the time. We have been cheering her on and now the babies. We hope they can make it out of the nest. Nature can be cruel or so inspiring. I am so sad for your goose Suzanna. Her instinct knew how to bury them. Thank you for the lovely words you shared.
I have read this over and over, slowly, reverently, in sadness, and yet with gratitude to have born witness. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Judy! That means a lot.
❤️
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning. Inspired writing. Beautiful imagery:
you call her bird—
i say cathedral
with wings
Thank you, Michael. Deeply appreciated.
snifff, sniff
I know! But the truth is that they were probably never fertilized. Rare that 5 eggs would not hatch. Sad, but not dead... just not formed.
Beautiful.
Thank you, Beth! Nature is hard!
Heartbreakingly beautiful.
Thank you, Heide. I appreciate your comment. Hope all is well.

Isn't it interesting that she covered them? I hope your robins make it -- so vulnerable!
Suzanna, we became empty nesters today! We wish them all good health. They have been fun to watch! 😊
The sadness …. Two years in a row for our pond goose. ❤️🩹
I am sorry for your mama goose!
