So deeply personal it cries. Thank you Suzanna. It takes courage to open up about loss. I hope the good crazy memories you made in your time together will nourish your spirits.
Enjoy the favorite moments and celebrations of the season.
This poem really touched me, Suzanna. My sister took her own life 15 years ago. The balance of good times against the desire to be able to stop what ultimately happened tears my heart.
Thank you, Carol. I am so sorry about the loss of your own sister. I may never stop missing my friend or trying to make some sense out of something so painful. I appreciate you letting me know the poem spoke to you. XXOO
Thank you so much for the comment. Yes, this one hit me too. I had written it some time ago and revisited it, and the memories were vivid. I'm glad it resonated with you.
Suzanna, you truly have a gift for poetry. Here, first so real, so joyful, then so tragic. You make our hearts ache for your loss, and then our own. But, always, always, always--a ray of hope and an opportunity to learn. My God...this one...

Thank you so much, Heidi. So true about grief and loss. Much love and happiness to you this holiday season.
I also miss Bill, his humor, and his energy. Every Thanksgiving now there is a sad empty chair.
The energy was infectious. Xxoo

WOW! Again and Again for how you can tap into the depth of feelings.
Thank you, Barb. It's an old poem I just got out and reworked. Needs a little still but it sure made me miss my friend and NYC. XXOO
Oh wow, S, so beautiful. Big hug
