Your poem reminds me how the severity of Iowa winters has a hidden beauty and an ability to reveal humanity which transcends our polarized society. Neighbors shovel sidewalks of their neighbors, regardless if they have opposite political affiliations. Strangers help push cars stuck in ditches. Okay, maybe not everyone. Just live every winter storm is not the same.

Lovely words...coinciding, appropriately so, with my beginning earlier this morning the book, "How to Winter: Harness Your Mindset to Thrive on Cold, Dark, or Difficult Days" by Kari Leibowitz, based on her research while living for several years in Tromsø, Norway.
