Hello Readers: Just a note on the poem I posted earlier today called “Moment of Impact.” For some reason, when I published the poem, the poetry block (which retains poetic spacing when a poem is published) had disappeared. So this poem, which was originally in lines, was reformatted and appeared as a prose poem of continuous text. I fiddled around with the program to see if I could repost it with my original intent but that function does not seem to be working. So I am leaving it for now. While the new format — more stream of consciousness — is not what I intended, it is interesting to see how it reads and changes the rhythm and even the meaning of the poem. Maybe the universe had different plans.
Author’s Note: See earlier post. I wrote this poem in response to several moments of impact that occurred this week and over the last few months, including the American Eagle flight that crashed into the Potomac and several tragic deaths.

While I am worried about conceding too much to the algorithms of Substack, I give kudos to you for your audible and being open to the different presentations. I realize I am using a football metaphor in your poetry; I have played more football than written poetry.
I recognized the writing as a prose poem and found it refreshing and imaginative! Assumed the format was purposeful.
