I hope Martha Stewart got to read this. It's good!

I am not normally a reader of poetry. But, I thought the poem about Martha Stewart Living as cover girl of Sports Illustrated was excellent. The poem was written by a woman who understood how hard it was to look good as she ages. It is hard even with wrinkle filler and plastic surgery and a fitness coach and a top notch hairstylist and every other advantage money can buy. Martha is an outlier.

Thank you for your comment. Our attitude is one thing that can age well if we tend to it. I appreciate you giving poetry a try!

Yes! I’m so tired of the ageist attacks on this woman. This is lovely.

As an 80-year-old woman to an 81-year-old Martha Stewart I am glad she is making older woman look beautiful. Thanks to her make up artist, photographer, etc.

Suzanna ! What attracted me to your stack was your handle "Dispatches from the Heartland," so upon opening your site, I saw a breathtaking photo of the ocean - where was this anyway? Your poem brought many tears to my eyes adding to my absolute glee that Martha had been awarded the spot! Who does that?? Only Martha could and should have pulled that one off- EVEN IF there wasn't the amount of cosmetics involved, I think it may have been even hotter !! Wouldn't it be a trip if she were featured again (and again) ?? Thank you so much for bringing this beauty to light for us.

Beautiful and powerful poem. I once met her pilot. He said she was nice, professional, and exacting. But if he didn't park the plane perfectly aligned where it was supposed to be she would mention it.
