I’m pleased to share that my poem “After the Locusts” was recently featured in iō Literary Journal. You can read it on their site using the link above (or clicking on the image above).
I was particularly drawn to the iō Literary Journal’s name because iō was a figure in Greek mythology (which I love). In Greek mythology, iō represents both transformation and displacement. iō was altered from her physical form into a white heifer and later wandered the world after being exiled from her home in Argos. According to the literary journal’s site, “Her bodily and spatial banishment speaks to iō Lit’s focus on the theme of marginalization and those considered ‘other’ who inhabit the sociopolitical outskirts.”
Interesting that the poem speaks to transformation and displacement, as well as resilience.
