Derick Burleson Poetry Contest and Pushcart nomination news
Dear Readers:
I am thrilled to share some very positive news. I received word last week that I had won the Derick Burleson Poetry Contest from Choeofpleirn Press for my poem “I Forgot There Were Stars,” which is also now the Featured Poem on their site (you can go to the Choeofpleirn site and read the poem by clicking this link).
Additionally, “I Forgot There Were Stars,” was also nominated for a Pushcart Prize, which honors the best poetry, short fiction, essays, and other writing from small presses. That poem and “Saturn’s Rings are Disappearing,” which originally appeared in their Rushing Thru the Dark, Autumn 2023 issue, will appear in the Best of Choeofpleirn Press, Winter 2023 publication.
Thank you for your encouragement and kind comments along the way. I am so grateful for your support and readership.
Suzanna
