Dark mornings, so cold. Chilly walk to the kitchen. Warm coffee is made. Ice on the driveway. Snowblower comes into view. Warm sun shines on us. Garage door frozen. Tools make quick work of the latch. Sound of car leaving. Windy day, full bags. Helping hands appear, outstretched. Heavy load lightens. Nothing in the fridge. Cold winter weeknight. Rescued by takeout. Laundry pile overflows. Returning from winter errands, socks clean and folded. Can’t work the remote. Instructions relayed by phone. Friday movie plays. Drifting into sleep, shivering on the sofa. Soft blanket appears.

All so relatable. Boiled down to essences. That’s haiku for ya!
