1. Cages opened wide, Free the wild heart takes flight, No chains, sky's embrace. 2. Ancient bonds undone, Release the captive spirit, Unshackle the past. 3. Destiny reclaimed, but at what cost? Who will pay freedom's heavy price? 4. Liberation rings, ushering in a new dawn, Or just a new cage?

I read some time ago that economic powers rise and fall every 80 years, and that America would follow Great Britain, France, Dutch, Portuguese and their predecessors. The visuals of slavery in each of the three lines are particularly interesting to me because economic ties can run parallel to servitude. And unshackled creativity creates a new prosperity.
Also, each Haiku sparked a different word -- Birds, Humans, Children, and Kings
Your haiku reminds me of a writing, in so many words: " Shared sacrifice transforms the impossible into the manageable. The weight of hardship, distributed across many backs, becomes lighter—a reminder that unity and group action turn challenging costs into bearable and visible investments in our collective future."
