Hello Readers:
I’m pleased to share that one of my poems “How to Prevent Birds from Flying into Your Windows” was one of 10 finalists for Synkroniciti Magazine’s “Vulnerable” issue and another, “what do you do when you cannot breathe?” was also included in the magazine. While Sykroniciti is national, to note is that the winner of the contest was another Iowan named Martha Sherick Shen with her poem “Hollywood Juniper.”
Here are the gorgeous table of contents pages for “Vulnerable,” coming out today, June 15th. As the editor says, “This issue is a special one – not only is it beautiful, full of things that will make you laugh, cry, and think, it’s also full of strategies and encouragement.” Get your copy or subscribe here. The dazzling cover (below) is from Viktoriia Sorochuk’s The Graces.

Thank you as always for your interest in my work and in poetry!
